Start your journey to North Island Auckland Airport
New Zealand’s North Island offers a varied holiday experience for all travelers. Most people fly into the country through Auckland, the largest city in New Zealand, but not with much to discover too much time to spend there before, further south.
If you do not want to waste time in Auckland Airport can book rental cars and will be available as soon as you retrieve your luggage.
Auckland International Airport is 21 km southwest of downtown, and while some hotels have free shuttle service, you can use to make your stay – if you travel a lot, and then saves the organization of transport for a short time after landing, you many problems later.
To enter the city from the airport, turn left onto George Bolt Memorial Drive. The ramp to Route Coronation will take you to merge with Highway Southwest, which takes you straight to the south of the city. North on Dominion road takes you to Queen Street, where you are located in the heart of Auckland.
If you drive south to Tauranga, Hamilton, Taupo, or any other city in the north of the island, west of the airport to Puhinui Road and then south when you reach the highway. You will soon travel across the Manukau to you to merge with Highway Auckland-Hamilton. From there, the State Highway 1, takes you through Cambridge and taken to Tokoroa to Taupo and get off at State Highway 29 East you will take to Tauranga. Traveling along State Highway 3 road takes you along the west coast to New Plymouth. You can even turn on State Highway 2 south of Manukau bits at a time when not passing through Hamilton to save interest, but it is a wonderful city to visit and enjoy a stop in.
If you do not have to travel too far, you can rent a car, freedom, which really helps when you travel in New Zealand. Consider canceling the flight from Auckland to your next destination and driving.
