How to Write More Effective Copy

In my copywriting coaching program is the first lesson, I encourage my students to do one entitled “Persuasion Architecture”. This lesson explains how, like any other form of writing a sales letter must have a structure.

In fact, I would need me to study the famous direct marketing pieces, and what “persuasion architecture” as a copywriter. This gives students the practice through “reverse engineering” process to realize that beyond the words and phrases must have a certain flow, plan, map, or whatever name you want to use to great copywriting.

I recently completed a masters program and of course I had to do was to “research methods”. In addition, they teach you how to make our academic research, but also a heavy writing component. (I just hate all the known literature, and so on, the “rules” that go to academic writing. I guess I’m so used to freedom of copywriting!)

For example, if you write a document based on deductive reasoning, you must start with a thesis statement and “tell the readers what you tell them and then introduce the subject in general, closely followed by arguments you need to support and after “to tell them what you told them” connect with the assertions of the thesis statement and its consequences.

In other words, there is a role model to make the paper logically connected and clear. One of the most common mistakes I see rookie writers is that they are so focused on “the power of words” and “sound like a writer,” the power of the letter is suffering. The main reasons for this lack of flow occurs because:

* Title is not logically connect to open, but are dealing with two different ideas

* The topic sentence of each paragraph is not logically supported by the phrases “body” of the next.

* From the “transitions” from one place to another is virtually ignored and it is difficult to break.

(Think AIDA).

* Too much real estate is given to a minor aspect of the sale.

To maintain the “slippery slope” in my letters I always try to write my letters in one sitting. Interestingly, one of the techniques used by the section of the great writers who can work on writing sales letters is to make the full circle article ends on the same idea, a story, or the question you started with.

Now, is not always possible to write a long sales letter in one sitting, but the design process (such as essay in ‘outline’), you can ensure that the letter from beginning to end without any problems.
